Keybot the Quant remains long but is champing at the bit to go short with the algo number one point below the signal line. The stock market is a coin-flip nowadays.
Utilities and banks are bullish creating buoyancy in the stock market while utilities and retail stocks are bearish wanting stocks to retreat.
The bulls have UTIL above 1112 and XLF above 51.27 so every day is a par-tay.
The bears have UTIL below 1171 and XRT below 83.19 wanting to create doom and gloom.
If the SPX drops below 7501 trending lower, Keybot the Quant will likely flip short but alas, the S&P futures are up +20 points with the cash open about 3-1/2 hours away.
XLU trades flat in the premarket so UTIL, or DJU, will likely stumble sideways like cousin Larry at the Memorial Day party. XRT trades flat not giving up its hand. XLF is up a smidge trying to hold onto the 52 handle. Thus, the battlefield is status quo for now.
SPX 7501, UTIL 1112 and 1171, XRT 83.19 and XLF 51.27 are all that matter. I live among the creatures of the night, city lights, painted girls, in the day, nothing matters. Laura is losing her Self Control. One of those metrics above will flinch and tell you the stock market direction ahead.
